How we are paid
At the outset Jalapeno (UK) Limited arranges a preliminary meeting for the purpose of establishing whether we are able to assist with the prospective client's needs and objectives.
At this meeting we also discuss how we will be paid for our services should we be instructed to proceed. There is no charge to you for this preliminary meeting - we will bear the cost of this.
After the initial meeting, Jalapeno (UK) Limited will agree with you whether we are paid an Advisor Fee or by means of a commission payment and will be dependent upon the type of financial product we recommend.
Advisor Fees relates primarily to Investment and Retirement Advice. We will agree with you a suitable fee for our services and this may be paid by you to us directly as a fee or facilitated by the product provider.
Commission payments may be paid to us from the Product Provider, usually an insurance company for the successful placing of protection policies or general insurance business. The commission payments are included within the provider's normal product charges.
Adviser Fees may be subject to VAT and we will advise you whether or not this is the case. Under current legislation commissions payments do not attract VAT.
Whether we take our remuneration by way of commission or fees will be a matter of discussion between us followed up with a written Adviser Fee Agreement, no charges for fees will be made without prior notification.
